Veterinary Dental Specialties – San Diego is hiring an experienced Vet Assistant. Candidates should have a passion for dentistry, anesthesia, and exceptional client and patient care. This position earns a competitive wage of $27 to $30 per hour depending on experience. A full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as long-term disability for full-time employees. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 – 5 years of Vet Assistant experience in a veterinary clinic or specialty clinic as a veterinary assistant.
• Must be proficient IV catheter placement, must be comfortable monitoring anesthesia and quickly respond to anesthesia and assisting the surgeon as necessary.
• Experience with dentals and dental radiology a plus.
• High degree of emotional intelligence, work ethic and integrity skills required.
• Able to use sound judgement when dealing with confidential information.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize job duties in a busy and constantly changing work environment.
• Able to be calm and level-headed in an often-stressful work environment.
• Experience in maintaining computerized medical records; EzyVet and Cubex experience a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic animal handling, knowledge of basic animal health care.
• Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
