DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Employees in this class provide a full range of social and case management services to children, youth, and families to assist them in attaining a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, or physical adjustment. An important aspect of this work is the employment of casework skills in obtaining essential information, counseling clients and members of their families, and helping them to utilize all available resources.

Newly hired Children & Youth Caseworkers work under the general supervision of a Casework Supervisor for a 6-month probationary period and complete training consisting of both classroom and fieldwork assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position includes working evening and weekend hours, as well as performing on-call duties.
