Facilities/Engineering Maintenance Engineer - Electrician
The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)
Provides preventative maintenance and troubleshooting in electrical areas of the Hotel/Casino. Works independently and with management to maintain department standards. Provides great guest service to guests and fellow Team Members.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and building automation systems.
- Completes all jobs assigned by management.
- Recognizes when equipment is in need of repairs, adjustments, or replacement.
- Advises supervisor of any unusual conditions. Performs assigned duties during emergencies.
- Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
- Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards.
- Terminated in closets on 24 and 48 port patch panels, 110 and 66 blocks.
- Pull and dress CAT 5E, 6, update 25 pair of voice and fiber optic through conduit and wall.
- Terminate in existing boxes or retrofit for use behind wall plates.
- Familiar with Fluke (or other) certification testing equipment and toners.
- Installed J-hooks, cable trays and ladder racks in closets and data centers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years electrician experience performing the same or similar job duties as listed above.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Experience successfully reading blueprints and schematics.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience bending and running conduit with proper techniques in wire pulling.
- Working knowledge of basic wiring of switches and devices.
- Working knowledge of different voltages, 120, 208, 277, and 480.
- Experience taking load calculations for new circuits, transfers, and lighting circuitry.
- Strong electrical trouble shooting skills as related to motor control centers and light dimmer systems.
- Repair and maintenance experience in electrical systems related to Mechanical, HVAC/R and Kitchen equipment.
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
- Verify right to work in the United States.
- Journeyman electricians card.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, standing, crawling, and stooping (over 75% of the time)
- Working outdoors and indoors
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and moving objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to descend and ascend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
- Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
- Distinguish between shades of color
- Vision, Hearing, Speech, and Literacy (critical)
- Ability to communicate via radios
