Learning Behavior Specialist Job Duties
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with learning and behavioral challenges
Provide specialized instruction and support to meet students unique needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate diverse learners
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
Federal and State Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Illinois school districts
