Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position working night shifts with required MI RN license and expertise in L&D, OB, and Mother / Baby care.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 15-bed LDRP hospital unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
  • Patient population includes antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
  • RNs provide care across all areas of LDRP and perform newborn hearing screens and lab draws
  • Staffing ratios align with AWHONN guidelines
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Float as needed to house as a sitter and to the nearest hospital unit for L&D or Mother / Baby as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR documentation system
  • RNs will circulate and scrub in the OR, assist with deliveries, and provide couplet care
  • Staff perform lab draws and conduct hearing screens on newborns using the ALGO 5 machine
  • Scrubs are provided for all staff
  • No call requirement for this role
  • Only one holiday RTO allowed per contract period, and only for one day or contiguous evening / day
  • Time off (RTO) is not permitted during the first 8 days of the contract
  • May consider candidates for longer contract lengths

    • Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, OB, and Mother / Baby
  • Certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and / or NCC C-EFM
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • Experience in circulating and fetal heart monitoring triage required; scrub experience preferred
