Job Summary : Perform as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction to students preparing them to learn Computer Tech knowledge that will guide them to take this trade as a career, attracting employers, and join the workforce.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Utilizes all possible resources available to create an inspiring, and knowledge-based curriculum that prepares students for entry-level computer & information technology roles .
- Establishes a high degree of student / instructor rapport, through interactive, creative & inspiring classroom presentation
- Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation.
- Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning.
- Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESPs) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested.
- Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Ensures that required reporting occurs and that students receive emergency services as needed.
- Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
- Meets individually with students assigned to their area responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes.
- Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders.
- Records daily attendance.
- Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for.
- Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
- Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student / staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations.
- Assists Manager during scheduled inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements : Qualifications :
Minimum : State certified, licensed or accredited by a professional trade organization. Certification is a must! No teaching experience required. Must show skills and ability to transfer topic knowledge to meet specific learning objectives.
Preferred : Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience.
Knowledge : Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
