Job description

National Council on Aging

We believe every person deserves to age well. That’s why we’re on a path to improve the lives of 40 million older adults by 2030. Come join an awesome team and learn about the work we do, the people we serve, and why equitable aging matters now more than ever. At NCOA, we represent the interests of the aging population across the nation, while striving to live out our core values of equity, excellence, and innovation. This is meaningful work where we put “people first” and our employees can learn and grow, where work / life balance is prioritized, and have a flexible hybrid work schedule while being part of a dynamic, collaborative team.

We are interested in growing our team with passionate, committed, and innovative individuals. The  Senior Analyst  will join NCOA at a time of dynamic growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Analyst will support data generation, analysis, research and evaluation with a focus on NCOA’s Falls Prevention and Chronic Disease Management and Self-Education Programs and Resource Centers.  The incumbent will primarily oversee evidence-based health promotion and disease prevention program database management systems and work collaboratively with Salesforce developers, IT department staff, Customer Relations Management (CRM) team, technical assistance liaisons, and consultants at the Center for Healthy Aging (CHA). Skillful delivery of technical assistance to community partners and grantees across the country, with data collection, management, and reporting needs is key.

The Senior Analyst will manage expectations from internal and external clients and need to respond quickly to requests with high-quality and accurate content. Being proactive and having quick problem-solving skills are essential to effectively work with a variety of data sets and meet agreed upon deadlines. This position will support activities that quantify the impact of the NCOA’s work and priorities, optimize goals, and meet monthly and annual grant deliverables and regularly collaborate both internally within NCOA and externally with our funders and network partners.

Positions at this level typically report to an Associate Director or above and require advanced knowledge and experience as well as strong project management capabilities. Incumbents are required to exercise latitude and independent judgement within their scope of work and usually require minimal oversight. Incumbents generally have five or more years of experience in their discipline and a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, as well as substantive experience at this level. Graduate level degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.

  • This grant-funded position is a short-term, temporary position that is funded for 12 months through August 2026, and designed to be filled by a W-2 employee, but NCOA is open to working with a 1099 contractor or consultant under the appropriate arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee an online system (Salesforce) housing multiple program and participant data to ensure data quality through regular monitoring and tracking, and monitoring grantee compliance with data collection requirements.
  • Check data for accuracy and address issues as needed. Follow up with program sites that have not entered their program data into the online system.

  • Oversee the deployment of updates to grantee collection forms and train grantees.

  • Expertise in culturally tailored interventions.
  • Provide ongoing customer support and training to all ACL CDSME, Falls Prevention, and Innovation Lab grantees regarding data entry, report generation, etc., using standard processes, ensuring consistency across all entities.
  • Train database users and serve as the point of contact for data requests and technical assistance to support ACL, the NCOA team, grantees, and other partners.

  • Develop useful resources to help users navigate their database portals more effectively and optimize use (e.g., tip sheets, infographics, step-by-step visual guides, office hours, video tutorials). Create and update technical documents, such as data dictionary, data importing template, security, and other data collection tools.
  • Provide data collection / database onboarding and essential needs for new grantees, as needed.
