Beds : 28 private beds\nRole : Step-Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN\nShift : 12-hour shifts (7a–7 : 30p & 7p–7 : 30a) | Every other weekend | Every other holiday rotation\nCertifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS\nEMR : Cerner / EPIC\nRatios : 1 : 4–5 (MedSurg 1 : 6)\nOrientation : 2 shifts with preceptor\nFloat : May float to ICU as needed\nPatient Population : Heavy cardiac (dysrhythmias, CVAs), complex step-down cases\nTelemetry / Drips : RN reads strips; must titrate Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin; insulin set-rate only\nEquipment : BiPAP, CPAP, high flow vents\nSupport : Hospitalist 24 / 7, Intensivist 7a–7p with on-call coverage, RT & Pharmacy 24 / 7, nurse aides during the day / mid-shift\nDress Code : Navy blue scrubs\n\nNotes : Traveler-friendly unit with supportive leadership and flexible scheduling.
