Role Purpose Statement

The Quality Assurance Coordinator – Food Safety plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing food safety and quality systems across the facility. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal standards. The coordinator supports continuous improvement initiatives and fosters a culture of safety and quality. Please note that this position is fully on-site.

Main Accountabilities

Monitor food safety and hygiene practices across production areas

Conduct GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and internal audits; document and report findings

Maintain trending charts, SOPs, and compliance records

Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints; implement corrective actions

Operate and calibrate equipment such as thermometers, weight scales, metal detectors, ATP testing tools, and food processing machinery

Support and deliver training on food safety protocols and best practices

Act as liaison for the QA Supervisor when needed; work independently with minimal supervision

Assist in preparing for third-party audits and regulatory inspections

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer and regulatory expectations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (a huge plus!)

Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic software

Strong math, analytical, verbal, and written skills

Comfortable working in cold environments

Able to lift / push 25 lbs and keep pace in a high-energy setting

Self-starter with leadership potential and a problem-solving mindset

Previous food industry or QA experience? Even better!
