Site Quality Manager
This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role :
As the Site Quality Manager, you will lead the Quality Operations, Quality Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams within a dynamic Vehicle Assembly Plant environment. This onsite leadership role is responsible for overseeing the plant's entire quality function, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with global standards.
You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing new products, processes, and operational plans that directly impact business outcomes. Collaborating closely with Shop Directors and cross-functional manufacturing teams, you will define, approve, and standardize Global Quality Operations requirements, launch quality system procedures, metrics, and best practices.
Your responsibilities include proactively addressing manufacturing requirements during the Global Product Development Process (GPDP) and Product Quality Readiness Reviews (PQRRs), while supporting all launch improvement initiatives. This role requires strategic influence across the organization to promote new concepts and approaches, as well as the ability to solve complex problems and adapt working methods in the absence of defined procedures.
What You'll Do :
- Manage day-to-day quality operations and coordinate activities across departments
- Lead strategy and implementation of large-scale quality initiatives
- Develop new products, processes, and standards aligned with GM's business strategy
- Drive continuous improvement and change management across the plant
- Build and develop high-performing teams; make staffing decisions and guide development
- Achieve plant metrics (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment)
- Champion Global Manufacturing System (GMS), Built-in Quality (BIQ), and Workplace Safety System (WSS)
- Maintain control systems, budgets, and performance monitoring tools
- Lead document control and competitive benchmarking to improve Cost of Quality (CoQ)
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to adopt new practices and approaches
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :
