Manager, Marketing Strategy - Upmarket & Premium Customer Marketing

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Strategist and people leader to lead customer management marketing strategy from intent development, test and creative strategy through in-market execution across multiple channels. The right candidate will have experience leading a team and developing and executing large-scale, marketing campaigns. They will need to work across multiple marketing channels and build relationships across the organization and should thrive in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as the Marketing Strategy team lead in a collaborative cross-functional team (business partners, creative teams, legal, compliance, etc) and partner with them to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to drive continued engagement and retention with our customers.

Oversee development and execution of integrated, multi-channel (email, site, in-app messaging, etc) marketing campaigns on a national scale to drive customers to engage with credit card offerings and deliver a thoughtful communications experience through robust, always-on creative testing.

Enable marketers to shepherd multiple marketing creative projects at once from brief to execution through our process while ensuring strategic intent aligns with execution / delivery at every step and timelines are met. Work across functions and with multiple stakeholders during the process in a well managed and organized manner.Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure marketing initiatives deliver on intent. Bring a data-based approach and customer-first innovative mindset to marketing to continually optimize customer experience and in-market results.

Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes. This involves the ability to build presentation materials and cohesive documentation that have equal impact when read as standalone or shared in a meeting environment.

Ideal Candidate :

Has experience leading marketers in large organizations, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet execution timelines

Detailed-oriented with strong prioritization skills

Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing and presentation abilities

Experience with a variety of marketing channels (eg : email, digital channels, website, etc.)

Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

At least 5 years of experience in brand strategy or product marketing experience on the agency or client side, with experience managing multiple channels

At least 5 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs

At least 5 years experience in managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing marketing materials that drive results

Preferred Qualifications :

Masters degree in marketing or business

2+ years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry

6+ years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy

6+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA : $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Marketing

New York, NY : $159,400 - $181,900 for Manager, Marketing

Richmond, VA : $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
