Configuration Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

The Configuration Analyst will perform Oracle configuration to develop new products, enhance existing products, and support business processes. The person in this role ideally should have some experience with the Oracle Insurance Policy Administration system (OIPA), should be able to estimate work and achieve assignments with occasional direction, once familiar with Americo’s environments.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Configuration (review requirements, estimate work, configure solutions, unit test)
• Understand technical designs and artifacts provided by architects and senior team members. Contribute to artifacts as needed.
• Provide configuration leadership on projects as needed.
• Provide environment support as needed (migrations, reboots, scripts, etc). Understand cycle and take responsibility for resolution efforts.
• Respond to production issues with urgency.
• On-call & emergency support

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of life insurance and annuity industry
• Basic knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies
• Ability to learn OIPA database structure
• Basic knowledge of standard insurance industry common transactions and procedures
• Able to interpret business requirements and translate into system rules
• Understand and code XML and SQL and supporting tools
• Excellent communication skills
• Build trusting relationships with associates at all levels of the organization
• Aptitude for technical solutioning based on business and technical capabilities of systems

Education:

• Four-year degree or equivalent years of experience
