Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and rehabilitation centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with experience in diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys through personalized therapy plans and hands-on treatment.
Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients of all ages.
- Provide therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic exercises tailored to patient needs.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge planning to promote continued recovery at home or in other settings.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments administered and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status.
- Support patients during therapy sessions by ensuring safety and comfort throughout treatment procedures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care strategies for complex cases involving geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, or other specialties.
Requirements
Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.Proven experience working in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.Knowledge of physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and various modalities relevant to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care.Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care planning processes.Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Flexibility to adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient needs and setting requirements.
