About the Role : As the Deputy Chief of Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the delivery of high-quality medical care. Collaborating with senior medical staff, you ll help set the vision and direction for the department, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in managing the Medicine Service line, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Support and advise the Chief of Medicine on clinical and administrative matters.
  • Oversee and coordinate clinical services, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty care.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous education.
  • Ensure compliance with VA policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and support clinical research efforts.
  • Assist in budget development and management.
  • Represent the Medicine Service in various administrative and clinical meetings.

Qualifications :

  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine or a medical subspecialty.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
