About the Role

A dynamic and rapidly growing distribution business in the building materials sector is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Sales and Operations Specialist to join their leadership development track. This position is perfect for professionals looking to fast-track their careers in sales, operations, and management within a highly decentralized and empowering business environment.

This isn't your typical entry-level job - it's a hands-on, full-cycle development role that equips you to eventually lead a business unit. You’ll learn the ins and outs of warehouse operations, inside and outside sales, team leadership, and customer management. The company is investing in future leaders and offers clear pathways to roles like Profit Center Manager, Sales Manager, or Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a comprehensive 18-24 month rotational program focused on operational logistics, inventory control, customer sales, and leadership development.
  • Receive hands-on training in warehousing, order fulfillment, and shipping / receiving operations.
  • Learn and apply inside and counter sales techniques, including relationship management and product recommendations.
  • Work closely with mentors and business leaders to understand P&L ownership, team development, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Contribute to process improvements and develop tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with teams across warehouse, purchasing, sales, and delivery to ensure operational excellence.
  • Prepare for placement in a permanent leadership or specialist role upon program completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience in operations, logistics, sales, or customer service.
  • Strong interest in leading teams, growing a business unit, and working in a hands-on environment.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Willingness to work on-site and lead by example in a physical operations setting.
