POSITION SUMMARY :

Each phlebotomist, under general supervision, is responsible for collection, transportation, processing, and aliquoting of specimens, limited testing procedures and computer data entry. Specimens collected and / or handled by phlebotomists include blood and body fluids.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Experience : On-the-job training / work experience.

Education : High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program / School or equivalent preferred

Special Qualifications : Phlebotomy Certification. At least 3 years of experience if “on the job trained” at a accredited medical facility. LA State Board of Medical Examiner’s Lab Assistant License (if applicable to duties).
