The Director of the Gill Heart &
Vascular Institute and Cardiovascular Service Line Director is
responsible for leading the strategy and program development for
all cardiovascular and related clinical services at the University
of Kentucky HealthCare. The position will provide clinical
leadership and management for the cardiology, cardiac surgery, and
other cardiac-specialized faculty which could include, but not
limited to cardiac anesthesiology and hospitalists in their
clinical activities and will maintain a comprehensive and
long-range system-wide view of UK HealthCare. Effectively
accomplishing these objectives requires a close cooperative
relationship with UK HealthCare leadership and UK College of
Medicine leadership, especially the chairs of medicine,
anesthesiology, radiology, pediatrics, and surgery and the chiefs
of cardiology and cardiac surgery.
Ideal
Experience :
accomplishments and credentials within cardiology cardiac surgery
or other cardiovascular qualifications and the experience and
national reputation necessary to ensure the enhancement of the
clinical and quality missions of the institute.
Successful administrative and leadership experience at an academic
institution, e.g., as a chief, vice chair, residency program
director, or center director.
guidance for junior faculty and an ability to identify and recruit
diverse cohorts of faculty, providers, and staff.
Financial and business acumen with appropriate knowledge of the
complex financial pressures facing academic medical centers and
healthcare delivery organizations.
board certification in cardiology or cardiac surgery and either
licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky; additional
graduate degrees are additive.
