Position : Auto technician / Mechanic

Department : Service

Reports to : Service writer / manager

Employment Status : Full Time

Location : Corcoran, MN

Business Hours : 8-5 Monday-Friday,

• weekends off!

Compensation : Hourly pay plan based on production plus benefits

• Technician / Mechanic Job Summary
• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair automobiles both foreign and domestic, light & medium duty trucks and motorhomes.
• Technician / Mechanic General Accountabilities
• Performs full range of skilled automotive repair work, from oil changes, minor tune-ups and electrical system servicing to major engine and transmission repairs and replacements on a regular basis.
• Inspects vehicles to determine the state of repair and any corrective action necessary to restore to a safe and reliable state.
• Operates and maintains automotive shop equipment.
• Performs minor welding and brazing work.
• Keep track of and record on repair order parts and supplies used in repairs performed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Technician / Mechanic Job Qualifications
• Minimum Education : High School
• Minimum Experience : 4 Year Apprenticeship program Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities
• Preferred Education : Associate Degree
• Preferred Experience : 5 Years
• Technician / Mechanic Competencies
• Technical Skills, Training and automotive work expertise.
• Customer Service - When required listen to customer concerns, road test with customer to identify problems.
• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems timely & efficiently; Gathers and analyzes information; Develops solutions; Uses reason.
• Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
• Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
• Basic computer skills.
• Technician / Mechanic Job Requirements
• Possession of a Minnesota driver's license in good standing, valid for the operation of any vehicle up to 26,000 pounds gross weight.
• Provide own tools
• A firm belief that doing what's right for the customer is right for Pro-Tech as well.
