Manual Machinist needed in Charleston area! Set-up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders to machine / fabricate metallic and nonmetallic work pieces and welds as needed. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities :

• Operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments - Ability to create according to specifications : dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth or cut and determines sequence of operations.
• Modify parts and materials to improve overall production- Setting up fixtures or feeding devices so that the machine feeds tool to work piece or vice versa and engages feed.
• Test completed equipment to detect and remove defects - Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machine work piece to specifications.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in work area.
• MIG Weld
• Perform other assigned duties as directed.
