Job description

Business Development Executive

Stryker Demolition & Environmental Services, LLC (DES) is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced business development executive to join our team, playing a key role in expanding our presence in the demolition and environmental remediation industries. This position is ideal for individuals with a deep understanding and at least 7-10 years of experience in business development within decommissioning, demolition, construction, and environmental remediation sectors. Experience in sectors such as chemical manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical, oil and gas transmission, and food production, and power / energy is highly desirable.

The position of Business Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Business Development of Stryker DES and will be instrumental in driving our core values : unwavering commitment to health and safety, stringent adherence to regulatory compliance, and excellence in service.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Sales and Business Development :

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve growth and profit objectives.

  • Identify and target potential clients, establishing and nurturing professional relationships.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to adapt sales tactics accordingly.
  • Client Engagement and Presentations :
  • Conduct presentations to both existing and prospective clients, effectively showcasing our service offerings and unique value proposition.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction without compromising company profitability.
  • Project Estimation and Bid Management :
  • Assist in project take-offs and estimation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements.

  • Prepare, send out, and manage bid packages, conducting pre- and post-bid reviews with company leadership to discuss strategies and profit margins.
  • Attend bid site visits and oversee the proposal process, including negotiations.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration :
  • Collaborate with the existing Director of Business Development and other departments to enhance overall sales and business development efforts.

  • Reporting and Market Analysis :
  • Maintain regular communication with company leadership, providing updates on sales activities, client interactions, and market opportunities.

  • Analyze client feedback and market research to continuously refine business development strategies.
  • Required Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in business development, preferably in demolition, environmental remediation, or closely related industries.
  • Proven ability in planning and implementing sales strategies, with a strong understanding of the regulatory and safety aspects in the industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing and directing a sales team.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the varying needs of high-profile clients across different sectors.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Willingness to travel as necessary to meet business objectives and client needs.
  • Innovative, adaptable, and stress-tolerant, with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Employment Type : Full-time salary position.

    Travel : The Business Development Manager role requires moderate to high travel, estimated at 30-40% of the time, subject to fluctuating business needs. This will involve travel to various client sites, project locations, and industry events across the United States, with a focus on regions where our key clients and projects are concentrated. Candidates should be prepared for flexible travel schedules and adapt to varying project demands and client requirements. In addition, the BDM may work from a home office, with occasional travel to the KOP headquarters.

    Compensation : Competitive professional salary offered based on experience and benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance and employer matched 401k.
