Job Title : Senior Azure Cloud Architect

Location : On-site (2-3 days / week, parking provided)

Duration : 1 year (with potential for extension)

Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Architect to join our team for a long-term contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure architecture, migration, and cloud security. As part of the agency's cloud transformation, the architect will provide guidance on in-place migrations, refactoring, and cloud-native adoption strategies, while also supporting configurations and testing to ensure minimal viable products within the Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

Advise the agency on best practices for Azure architecture and cloud security .

Lead and recommend strategies for lift-and-shift migrations and on-premise to cloud-native transitions.

Provide expertise on Azure-based refactoring to optimize and modernize the agency's cloud environment.

Conduct testing and validation within Azure to demonstrate minimal viable products (MVPs) of architecture solutions.

Recommend and implement configurations to Azure services to meet agency-level objectives.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as COV and MSI to leverage available cloud offerings.

Provide guidance on Azure services configurations , including but not limited to compute, storage, networking, and security.

Contribute to the strategic direction for cloud adoption and optimization within the organization.

Required Qualifications :

Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Architect with a focus on architecture design , security , and migration strategies .

Extensive knowledge of Azure cloud services , including compute, storage, networking, and security features.

Experience with cloud migrations , including lift and shift and cloud-native solutions .

Strong background in refactoring applications and services for the cloud.

Ability to conduct testing and validation within the Azure environment, delivering MVPs to prove architectural designs.

Familiarity with offerings from COV , MSI , and other connected parties.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as required.

Desired Skills :

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert ).

Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and DevOps practices .

Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
