The Medical Assistant / Receptionist at Middlesex Monmouth Gastroenterology in Freehold, NJ plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Experience in a gastroenterology or similar healthcare / office setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population - Spanish a plus.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive first impression and efficient registration process.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Manage patient records, including updating information and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Schedule appointments, follow up on patient inquiries, and handle billing and insurance verification.
  • Provide education to patients regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers.
