Schedule Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours / week, every other weekend required. Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services, and Nursing Division policies. Responsibilities Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients. Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management. Administer medications safely according to hospital policy. Participate actively in staffing, time management, and resource utilization. Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements. Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Assume Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator responsibilities when assigned. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department. Previous traveler experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care. Current New York State Registered Nurse License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
