Principal Product Manager – Browser Extension

Location : Mountain View, California

• This role is based out of our Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA offices and requires full-time in-office attendance .

About the Role

ID.me is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for the Browser Extension — a critical surface that brings ID.me's identity, Wallet, and member benefits directly to where users browse, shop, and engage online. The Browser Extension will serve as a frictionless companion that helps over 150 million ID.me members verify their identity, access personalized discounts, and manage credentials across the web.

As a Principal PM, you'll define how the Browser Extension becomes a trusted, always-on identity and benefits companion for members, ensuring seamless integration across browsers, e-commerce, and partner sites. You'll own the vision for how the extension enhances member engagement, drives partner conversions, and reinforces ID.me's mission to provide secure, portable digital identity everywhere. You'll partner closely with Wallet, Shopping, SuperApp, and Platform teams, working with Design, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance to deliver a secure, delightful, and high-performing browser experience.

Responsibilities

Product Leadership :

Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for ID.me's Browser Extension, establishing it as the member's trusted identity companion on the web.

Cross-Browser Experience :

Deliver a unified and high-quality experience across major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox), ensuring performance, usability, and compliance.

Identity & Wallet Integration :

Embed secure sign-in, credential access, and AAL2 authentication directly into the extension, enabling members to verify and use their ID seamlessly across partner sites.

Shopping & Benefits Enablement :

Integrate real-time discovery of member discounts, offers, and verified benefits across merchants and partner platforms.

Contextual Assistance :

Develop intelligent, privacy-respecting in-browser prompts that help members apply credentials, verify faster, and access rewards where relevant.

Trust & Compliance :

Ensure the extension's functionality aligns with regulatory standards (HIPAA, PCI, NIST 800-63-4) and includes robust security, privacy, and fraud-prevention measures.

Analytics & Optimization :

Define KPIs for extension installs, active usage, engagement rate, and conversion impact; instrument analytics for performance, funnel optimization, and feedback loops.

Collaboration :

Work closely with Wallet, SuperApp, Shopping, and Platform teams to ensure seamless UX and consistent identity flows across devices and web surfaces.

Evangelism :

Champion the Browser Extension as a core access point for members and partners, driving adoption and communicating its strategic role in ID.me's ecosystem.

The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.

$222,000—$276,000 USD
