Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to work out of one of our offices in Donora, PA. The Design Engineer coordinates with sales, estimating, purchasing, & fabrication to engineering jobs meet quality standards & design.

Essential Duties :

• Apply principles of mechanics of materials, heat transfer, and material sciences.
• Drafting and implementing destructive test procedures (pipe supports) which follow MSS SP-58 guidelines.
• Design and fabrication of shop testing rigs and / or fixtures.
• Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties.
• Estimating on conceptual design jobs including material takeoff and value engineering.
• Document Control : Updating the design records for ISO9001 Quality plan.
• Interaction with customers in regard to the technical aspects of their project.

Days / Shift :

Monday thru Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm

Ideal Candidate :

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate holder

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software - Solidworks, Ansys

Experience with Design and analysis of piping systems and supports.

Software Requirements : Windows OS, Microsoft Excel & Word, AutoCAD 2D, Solidworks 3D
