THE POSITION AND QUALIFICATIONS. The School of Social Work seeks to hire multiple non-tenure track instructional faculty at the Instructor or Assistant Professor of Instruction rank to teach in its undergraduate and graduate programs and to collaborate with interprofessional colleagues across the College. Applicants should have an MSW (required) with a doctorate (preferred), such as a DSW, PhD, EdD, DrPH, in social work, social welfare or another relevant discipline. Although teaching areas are open, we especially seek candidates with professional experience in clinical social work or child welfare/family development. We welcome applicants with classroom and online teaching experience. Familiarity with learning management systems and communication/educational software is preferred. Please note that this is not a fully remote position.

THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK. The School of Social Work's faculty serve students in CSWE-accredited BSW and MSW programs. The BSW program focuses on generalist practice, while the MSW program allows students to specialize in an area and method of practice. These programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education through 2031.

There is strong commitment to supporting students already in the workforce and building interdisciplinary educational opportunities. MSW students can earn a concurrent MPH and JD.

The School is supported by a strong Department of Practicum Education in its placement of students. SSW faculty contribute annually to continuing education classes for practitioners, supporting the School's growth in addressing career development needs.

Faculty in the School of Social Work conduct research on interpersonal violence, fatherhood, aging, HIV/AIDS, mental health, housing insecurity, substance abuse, health services, social isolation, loss and grief, LGBTQ social and health issues, acculturation, trauma, equity practices and poverty. Opportunities for non-tenure track faculty exist to contribute to writing grants supporting student training and education.

THE COLLEGE. Devoted to an interprofessional environment for education, research and practice, the CEPH-accredited College of Public Health consists of academic units in the public health disciplines, health professions, and the School of Social Work, enrolling more than 4,000 students. The College's research focuses on social, behavioral and environmental inquiries, medical/health interventions, and basic science and is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense and other major funders. The College is home to the Collaborative on Community Inclusion, the Center for Obesity Research and Education, is staffed by a robust complement of seasoned professionals, including Offices of Communications and Marketing, Information Technology, Sponsored Research, and Academic Affairs. Temple's Center for the Advancement of Teaching provides outstanding programs and one-on-one mentoring to instructors to promote and support excellent teaching. Collaboration across our clinical disciplines creates an emerging, innovative framework for interprofessional education.
