Summary / Objective

Manages terminal activities including customer relations, scheduling, employee relations, budgets, staffing, safety, and daily / monthly / yearly production goals.

Essential Functions

• Operates as the main contact with the customers.
• Manages a team of supervisors and operator's staff.
• Schedules labor and adjust as business needs fluctuate.
• Accomplishes daily tasks and partners with the general manager in managing operations.
• Manages and oversees yard planning.
• Interviews and selects team members for hire.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports.

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated, and / or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor / indoor shop environment, or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative or production / technical nature. Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach and handle items.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.

Travel

Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and / or air.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.

Computer Operations

Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Card).
