LVN LPN PRN Nights Position Summary

A Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing practice and utilization of the nursing process related to patient care under the supervision of a register nurse. LPN nursing practice follows the current Nursing Practice Act and Guidelines from the Department of Health, and Board of Nursing for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for gathering data for assessment of patients, assisting with the planning for patient care, interventions assigned, and providing input for the evaluation process. The LPN is an essential part of the team providing care to a variety of patients in various settings. Collaborates to promote high quality, cost efficient health care.

Qualifications

Education :

Required : Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing

Certifications

Required : Current Massachusetts LPN license; American Heart Association BLS certification.

For Telemetry and higher acuity units, ACLS (AHA) and EKG may also be required.
