The Role

The DC Team Member position is diverse and may encompass a number of operational and functionally specific roles the primary function of a Team Member is to perform Picking duties however DC Team Members may also perform Packing, Sorting, Dispatch, Inwards & Forklift Operation or other operational duties. The basic objective of this position is to provide the organization with high quality, accurate, and efficient warehousing and logistics support.

In accordance with DC Task Analysis including but not limited to :

  • Coverage of approximately 8km brisk walking across a full shift
  • Frequent and repetitive standing, reaching, squatting, bending
  • Frequent and repetitive manual retrieval of items from pallets / shelved cartons
  • Frequent and repetitive lifting of packages of various weights up to approximately 30kgs
  • Consistent pushing of manual trolley
  • Due to the changing operational demands and seasonal peaks of a retail business, there may be a need for the DC Team Member to work outside of standard operating hours when necessary, which may include work on weekends and public holidays

    WHAT YOUR ROLE DELIVERS

    SAFETY

    Promote safety awareness and incident prevention

    Perform all duties safety and according to Safe Work Practices and all other Site Safety requirements not limited to use of PPE, Housekeeping, Traffic Management & Safe Manual Handling

    Maintain a clean and safe workplace

    OPERATIONS

    Perform all duties in line with site & / or Brand specific KPIs inc :

  • Shipping
  • LPNs
  • Accuracy
  • Productivity
  • Other operational KPIs as applicable
  • TEAM

    Awareness of applicable administrative procedures

    Awareness of Distribution 'non-negotiables'

    Awareness of Group policies & procedures

    Other reasonable duties as directed

    MEASURES OF SUCCESS

    Actively participate in Safety Campaigns

    Comply with all safety related policies, procedures, SWPs and all other safety requirements and expectations

    Report all hazards, near misses, incidents & injuries

    All Shipments GRN'd within DC Lead Times / all Shipments (inc AF & LCL) processed within expectations

    1 LPN per Carton Received

    Pick, Gun, Carton, Unit & Active / reserve location accuracy

    Pick, Fill to Active & Pull from Bulk rates.

    Local DOT

    3PL DOT ex DC

    Local DIFOT

    Ensure accurate daily clock in / out via Timeteq

    Compliance with non-negotiables list

    Compliance with COG policies and procedures

    Display behavior in line with Cotton On Group Values, Ethical Framework and Code of Conduct

    TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    Experience in a fast paced, KPI driven Logistics, DC or similar environment

    Experiencing in a similar position highly desirable

    Certificate level qualifications in Warehousing desirable but not essential

    Experience using WMS & RF systems

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to move around the store throughout the shift / workday
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly (e.g., boxes or other merchandise packages, bins, clothing racks, stools / ladders)
  • Ability to regularly squat / kneel (e.g., to access under-storage bins, during visual resets)
  • Ability to regularly use a ladder, step stool or raised platform safely to complete required tasks
