About The Position

Job Title : RN - Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Current RN License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Experience in telemetry nursing
• Ability to self-study telemetry strips
• Basic Dysrhythmia test must be passed during the first week of assignment

Description :

The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance.

A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment.

This test must be passed to work in the telemetry / medical-surgical unit.

The nurse will deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.

Care will be provided in coordination with other health team members.

The nurse will effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.

High-quality care will be provided to the following patient populations : geriatric, medical / surgical, adult, and telemetry.

Floating may be required to non-critical care inpatient units.

Occasionally, travelers with critical care experience may be floated to the critical care unit.

Every other weekend rotation is required.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.

Telemetry ratios are currently 1 : 4 on days and 1 : 5 on nights.

Medical / surgical ratios are currently 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights.

BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
