Plant Manager
Viracon is a leader in architectural glass. We are the largest single site glass fabricator in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world. We offer over a million customizable options for customers unique specifications in the architectural glass industry.
We are looking for a Plant Manager to join our team! In this position you will have a hand in the process of building some of the most elegant large-scale buildings across the world.
Function : The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing plant operations at a designated Viracon location, ensuring safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity goals are met. Leads the execution of the Viracon Production System and coordinates cross-functional resources to support operational success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure a safe, hazard-free workplace in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Lead safety programs, participate in committees, and maintain clean work environments.
- Ensure adherence to business system quality standards.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manage production schedules and ensure timely, complete order delivery.
- Champion cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Support plant modifications and drive MDI efforts (e.g., gemba walks, kaizens).
- Maintain strong floor presence and foster positive working relationships.
- Develop and mentor direct reports and support employee growth.
- Ensure consistent policy enforcement and cross-functional coordination.
- Approve and manage plant budgets; monitor labor, material, and loss costs.
- Support capital investment decisions and strategic manufacturing planning.
- Keep leadership informed on plant performance and key operational changes.
- Communicate company goals, progress, and expectations across the plant.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).7+ years' leadership experience in manufacturing (glass fabrication a plus).Strong leadership, communication, and financial acumen.Proven record of process improvement and team development.Regular, full-time attendance; English proficiency required.Pay Range : $140,000 - $200,000
