Job Title

Senior Product Manager / Product Lead (path to Head of Product)

Job Description

The Tight Embedded Accounting HQ is in Washington, DC, in the renowned Dupont Circle neighborhood, directly across the street from the Dupont Circle Metro Station. We are in our high-energy office 5 days a week, and we’re looking to bring on a Product leader who embraces the opportunity to collaborate with high‑trajectory teammates in our HQ. Tight is growing at a rapid pace, with 50% year-over-year employee growth, and we’re looking for a leader who not only embraces the growth but also is excited by the amount of change that comes with this growth.

Many financial technology (FinTech) platforms are building products that leverage Tight’s Embedded Accounting UIs, APIs and SDKs; over 1.3M users are leveraging said products. Tight’s team aids these FinTechs in how to leverage its Embedded UI, APIs and SDKs to build these products. Tight’s Customer Partnerships team interfaces directly with the FinTech’s product / engineering teams, soliciting and obtaining critical product feedback that drives the direction of Tight’s products.

While Tight is a product‑led organization, Tight’s engineering leaders (CTO, Head of API, Head of Embedded UI) have historically owned all aspects of Tight’s products, including design, direction, and delegation to engineers. Now, Tight is creating a Product operation, which will encapsulate the following areas :

Product design and hand‑off

Creating, aiding in implementation of, reviewing, and iterating user experiences, maintaining product roadmap and / or release notes.

Hand‑off and coordination with engineering team (80% of Tight’s team is engineering).

Research

Keeping up to date with industry / product standards of legacy accounting platforms.

Staying ahead of industry leaders with products that intersect with a Tight feature.

Customer understanding

Understanding and internalizing the personas of Tight’s end users.

Working with our Customer Partnerships team to address user / product‑level needs.

Responsibilities

Researching industry standards to understand and formulate best practices for a given feature.

Designing innovative user experiences (workflows), starting with wireframes.

Coordinating with Design for UI, Engineering for implementation.

Owning product, as a player‑coach.

Qualifications

3 to 10 years of experience managing products.

Engineering or Design background helpful.

Experience managing high‑growth team members in addition to liaising with leaders.

Strong writing skills.

Importantly, at Tight, we are looking to utilize your existing skills to improve and build new products, and then the sky’s the limit responsibility / growth‑wise based on where your skill development and interests lead.
