About the Role H&K Equipment is seeking a reliable and motivated Level 1 IT Support Specialist to join our growing IT team.
This is an entry-level, hands-on role focused on reducing day-to-day “break / fix” workload for our senior IT staff and providing consistent support to users across multiple locations.
You’ll directly support employees at H&K Pittsburgh and West Virginia. The role is ideal for someone who wants to learn, grow, and eventually take on more advanced responsibilities but is fully capable of handling foundational support right now.
What You’ll Do Primary Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for technical support issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 issues, including :
- Computer and laptop problems Printer / scan / fax issues Email & Microsoft 365 troubleshooting Mobile device setup, management, and app support Basic network connectivity problems Phone system features, voicemail setup, and softphone configuration Set up and configure new user hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, accessories).
- Assist with routine maintenance, including software installs, updates, and equipment checks.
- Support new hire onboarding (accounts, devices, permissions, and workstation setup).
- Perform light travel to regional branches to support users and equipment (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Secondary (Growth) Responsibilities (Not required on Day 1, learn as you go) Assist senior IT staff with project rollout work.
- Oversee technology buildouts and implementation for new facilities and locations.
- Support projects in Business Central, CRM, e-commerce, and mobility applications.
- Help with infrastructure tasks such as inventory, endpoint management, and road mapping.
- What We’re Looking For Strong customer service attitude and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365, iPhone, and general computer troubleshooting.
- Willingness to learn new things.
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
- Comfortable traveling to nearby branches as needed (usually day trips).
- Comfortable with light physical activity, including walking between buildings, lifting / carrying equipment, and occasionally working in tight spaces (under desks, behind racks, server closets).
- High school diploma required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience assisting users or providing customer service.
- Prior IT support or service desk experience.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (iPhone).
