Risk & Claims Analyst
Role supports the day-to-day operations of internal and external risk and claims management teams to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of risk transfer and risk mitigation processes.
The ideal candidate needs excellent organizational, quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to apply those skills across a variety of risk management, claims and financial frameworks.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Support claims handling and coordinate with legal counsel, third-party adjusters, and internal leadership to determine resolution strategies and provide recommendations for claims settlements based on policy provisions.
- Analyze claims and risk exposures with detailed root cause analysis / corrective action metrics, financial impact analysis and cost of risk trending.
- Collect data for insurance renewals in conjunction with other members of risk team; develop conclusions about variances to support changes.
- Manage surety bond and certificate of insurance requests in conjunction with other members of the risk team.
- Provide feedback on the development and enhancement of internal policies and procedures regarding claims management and other risk control programs.
- Lead coordination of loss control surveys, post-meetings and track results against established goal framework.
- Attend and lead training sessions on risk control and claims management.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Partner with Director and EHS teams to deliver analytics-based risk recommendations.
- May be required to operate a company vehicle.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance or related field, or five years’ relevant experience is required.Professional designation related to insurance, such as ARM, CIC, CPCU or equivalent is required.Prior experience with an insurer, broker or corporate risk management team is preferred.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Competency with risk management information systems and / or the TPA claims system.Decision-making skills.Organizational skills.Advanced computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel are required.Travel by various means for claims-related matters up to 15% of the time is required.Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.Why Ashley?
