Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others' views and opinions, and distill and share the company's perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect, including AI, privacy, kids online safety, and pro-innovation economic policy.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and oversight of the company's PAC and political giving activities at the federal and state level. You will work closely with other members of the GAPP team to ensure the political giving program advances the company's external relationships and public policy priorities. You'll organize events and represent the company externally with third-parties, companies, and policy makers. You will set and reach growth goals and advise the company on the latest industry trends and best practices. As a seasoned political professional, you will support the broader US team on policy priorities and advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and administrator for the company's PAC and political giving program. Develop and implement a strategic political giving plan that supports the company's legislative and regulatory priorities.
  • Manage all aspects of PAC and political giving administration, including budgeting, vendor management, expenditures, internal communications, and external communications.
  • Work with Google's political law team to ensure the program is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local campaign finance laws and regulations (e.g., FEC, state ethics commissions).
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on program activities and results for leadership and the PAC Board of Directors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase fundraising and employee participation. Organize and execute fundraising events and campaigns.

Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience working on technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, law, relevant industry associations, consulting, or corporate government affairs.
  • 7 years of experience working in public affairs, political communications, or political campaigns, or within government.
  • 7 years of experience with political giving or fundraising.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience with Internet and technology policy.
  • Experience as a leader and collaborator with effective investigative and communications skills.
  • Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
