Position Summary

The role leads the front-end conceptual design process, including analysis of customer data and operations, developing and integrating multiple technologies. Responsibilities include analyzing large data files, building project-specific databases, and developing presentation materials to summarize design requirements. Works with Solution Sales and Applications Engineers to define design requirements for mid-scale automated projects and presents analyses and solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

• Conceptually develop block-level designs and end-to-end material handling solutions integrating multiple technologies (e.g., sortation conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, voice and light picking systems, and supporting structures).
• Perform data collection and analysis to define design criteria; experience with SQL for organizing, shaping, and analyzing large data files.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering, Sales, and Customers to define system requirements and specifications.
• Identify applicable new technologies and work with vendors to develop complex turnkey subsystems (e.g., unit sorters, automated storage and retrieval systems).
• Develop labor requirements for proposed solutions using methods such as time studies, MOST, and MTM.
• Use economic analysis tools to determine return on investment for concepts.
• Contribute to proposal documents, design reports, bid specifications, and operation descriptions.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.
