Job description

Are you an experienced Interventional Radiologist looking for a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in Northern California? We have an open position with flexible scheduling for a skilled professional near Grass Valley, CA. This role involves working within a general acute care hospital to provide essential imaging and interventional radiology services.

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Licensing : Active California Medical License required
  • Board Status : Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology
  • Additional Certifications : BLS, CA Fluoroscopy, and DEA license
  • Preferred Experience : Clean malpractice history is highly desired

    • Role Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for interventional radiology needs and stroke-related imaging.
  • Primary Procedures : Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters, CT / US-guided biopsies, and lumbar punctures.
  • Imaging Duties : Stroke CTs, ICU, and ED imaging studies. Daily studies include CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI.

    • Daily Volume

  • Studies per Day : Approximately 50 studies, including :

    • CTs : 15-20

  • X-rays : 15-20
  • Ultrasounds : 10
  • MRIs : 5
  • IR Procedures : 5-8

    • Support and Tools

  • Support Staff : Diagnostic imaging nurses and radiology techs on-site
  • EMR System : Cerner

    • Credentialing Requirements

  • Documentation Needed : Updated CV, provider's NPI or license number, availability, and malpractice history.
