Responsibilities Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting 26-bed ICU including some negative pressure rooms Caring for medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients Conditions include ICP monitoring, EVD, spinal precautions, DKA, multi-system trauma, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, and stroke Patient ratio is typically 1 : 2, with a possible third patient during discharge or transfer Night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM, with every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities Floating may be required to Cardiac Care Unit, Cardiac or Medical Stepdown, or to PICU if pediatric experience is present Uses Cerner for charting; experience preferred Utilizes Alaris and Pyxis equipment Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurse, resource nurse, respiratory therapist, hospitalist, intensivist, and trauma surgery team General hospital orientation followed by one shift of unit orientation provided Flu vaccination required for assignment; only medical exemptions will be considered Holiday coverage varies and requires manager approval for requests Professional solid color scrubs required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Free parking is available in designated areas Requirements Active ME RN license or compact RN license Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Strong neuro and trauma experience including EVD and ICP monitoring required Experience with ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke, hemodynamic lines (A-lines / CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and strong assessment skills required Cerner experience preferred PALS certification preferred if candidate has PICU experience and may float to the unit Applicants must not have worked at any Northern Light Health hospital in a permanent capacity Permanent address must be 100 miles South / Southwest of the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614027.
