CNC Operator (All Levels Needed)

Summary / Objective

The CNC Operator (all levels needed) will operate equipment according to established procedures in a safe and quality manner. Dimensional measurements will be required during the operation of equipment to assure compliance to requirements. Adjustments to the equipment will be executed during the operation of equipment to meet established run rates and part accuracy. This involves performing First Piece Inspection and continuous Quality activities. Equipment will include Mills, Lathes, CNC’s and screw machines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain S, Q, D, C, I activities
• Develop, sustain and improve CNC machine tool methods and procedures
• Assist tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development
• Develop standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs
• Troubleshoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
• Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)
• Participate in Productive Maintenance activity

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required :

Preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, listen and follow instructions. Ability to read blueprints.

Mathematical Skills

Basic shop math and precision measurement skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to make adjustments as needed by following SOP’s.

Travel Requirements

Travel will normally be less than 5% (training, equipment development, satellite facility support).

Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments / plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of the job the employee works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

This position requires compliance with ITAR requirement. Must be a “U.S. Person” (per ITAR 120.15) and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.
