Job Overview

New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is a multi-faceted community development and social service agency providing housing and social services to 4,000 children and families daily in the city of Paterson. NJCDC has invested $100 million in real estate projects throughout the Great Falls neighborhood, including 200 housing units, a charter school, and a youth center. Currently, there are five projects in the real estate pipeline at different stages of development.

Position Summary

The Director of Real Estate is principally responsible for project management of all real estate development and capital improvement projects including site reconnaissance, environmental due diligence, financing, acquisition, design, land use approvals, permitting, and construction. This includes oversight of project architects, engineers, attorneys, and general contractors. Reporting to the Chief Real Estate Development Officer, the Director will also assist the Director of Asset Management as required with respect to property management functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management of real estate development and capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate site reconnaissance, environmental due diligence, financing, acquisition, design, land use approvals, permitting, and construction.
• Oversee project architects, engineers, attorneys, and general contractors.
• Assist the Director of Asset Management with property management activities as needed.
