- Key Responsibilities Data Scientist / AI Engineer – Enablement & Outreach Provide outreach, enablement, and training for NATO staff on data science & AI tools.
- Develop awareness materials, workshops, and demonstrations to promote AI adoption.
- Support collaboration across NATO stakeholders and partner nations.
- Data Scientist / AI Engineer Design, build, and train machine learning models for NATO datasets.
- Conduct research and develop prototypes for decision support and operational insights.
- Integrate AI / ML into NATO experimentation, exercises, and wargaming.
- Full-Stack Developer Develop scalable applications supporting NATO’s AI / DS workflows.
- Build APIs, front-end dashboards, and secure data pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize AI / ML solutions.
- Senior Software Developer Provide advanced coding and systems engineering expertise.
- Lead software design and architecture for NATO AI / DS platforms.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and integration with NATO networks and systems.
- Required Qualifications University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI / ML, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in AI / ML, data science, software engineering, or full-stack development depending on category.
- Demonstrated experience working in multinational, defense, or research organizations.
- Proficiency with modern programming languages (Python, R, Java, C++), data visualization tools, and cloud / virtualization environments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Citizenship of a NATO member nation.
- Active NATO or National SECRET (or higher) clearance Desired Skills Familiarity with Agile / DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience with big data analytics, edge AI, or federated learning.
- Track record of deploying AI / ML in real-world mission or enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of NATO structures, experimentation processes, and operational decision-making.
