The Role We’re looking for a motivated and sharp Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team in Salt Lake City.
This role is all about starting conversations and creating opportunities.
You’ll research and reach out to cannabis brands, manufacturers, and distributors, introducing them to Calyx and qualifying whether they’re a fit for our packaging solutions.
Your goal is to set up high-quality meetings for our Account Executives so they can focus on closing deals and growing accounts.
This is a great role for someone who’s hungry to break into sales, loves connecting with people, and wants to be part of a growing team in a fast-moving industry.
What You’ll Do Find and qualify new business opportunities Build and manage lead lists using CannabizMedia, HubSpot, and other sources. Research potential customers and identify key decision-makers. Reach out to prospects through calls, emails, and LinkedIn to introduce Calyx. Reconnect with past or lost opportunities to open new doors. Drive outbound activity Hit call targets and send personalized emails that get responses. Schedule discovery calls and demos for Account Executives. Follow up on marketing leads and trade show contacts to keep the momentum going. Keep our pipeline organized Log all calls, emails, and notes in HubSpot so the team always has clean data. Pass qualified opportunities to AEs with clear context. Route smaller or unqualified leads to our eCommerce store when it’s a better fit. Support the sales team Help research accounts before key meetings and trade shows. Share insights from conversations about competitors, pricing, and market trends. Shadow AEs on calls to keep learning and get ready for your next step in sales. What We’re Looking For 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, or a similar role — or a recent graduate with strong communication skills. Comfortable on the phone and confident reaching out to new people. Excellent listening and writing skills. Organized, curious, and motivated to hit goals. Experience with HubSpot or another CRM is a plus. Excited about the cannabis space and working at a fast-growing company.
