Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will document the company's financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.
Responsibilities
Enter financial data and transactionsAnalyze budgets and other financial informationReconcile bank statementsPrepare financial reports and statementsVerify the accuracy of transactions that have been enteredProcess accounts payable and accounts receivableCreate accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulationsProcess payrollSupport the monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliationsPrepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliationsReview and process vendor invoices; assist in managing accounts payableSupport accounts receivable efforts and monitor aging reportsMaintain and update general ledger accounts with accuracy and timelinessAssist with job costing, WIP tracking, and project-related accountingReconcile employee expense reports and credit card transactionsMaintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controlAssist with payroll and benefits reconciliation as neededWork directly with Controller on special projects and auditsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related fieldPrevious experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar positionKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systemsStrong mathematical and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private); construction or restoration industry a plus
