The Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics advances the health of infants, children, and adolescents worldwide through innovative medical care, research, training, and advocacy. Ranked among the top in the nation, the Department of Pediatrics attracts medical students, interns, residents, fellows, and postdoctoral scholars from around the world. The department's programs offer a range of training opportunities in general pediatrics, critical care, and pediatric subspecialties—all within a variety of ambulatory, inpatient, and community settings. Moreover, while teaching the skills required for tomorrow's physician leaders, our programs challenge trainees to explore and develop their interests through basic science, clinical, and community-based research.
The Residency Scheduler will support multiple training programs in our office, including our categorical Pediatrics, Physician Scientist Track, Combined Pediatrics and Medical Genetics, Combined Pediatrics and Anesthesiology, Child Neurology, and Triple Board (Pediatrics, Child / Adolescent Psychiatry, and Adult Psychiatry) residency programs. This position will work closely with—and learn directly from—a diverse team that includes the Associate Director of Residency Administration, Program Director, other program coordinators, and four Chief Residents.
The Scheduler will serve as the lead partner with Calerity in building the annual resident schedules for training years 1–5, working with the Program Director and Chief Residents to establish schedule rules, gather resident preferences, and ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and clinical staffing needs. The role also requires leadership in managing day-to-day schedule changes (e.g., resident illnesses or emergent coverage needs), integrating Calerity with QGENDA, Amion, and MedHub, and overseeing resident Leaves of Absence (LOAs).
The successful applicant will be passionate about education, skilled in program and project management, and eager to collaborate with faculty, staff, and trainees in advancing the mission to improve child health.
