Job Duties : Under the supervision of the Education Bureau Chief, the Montana WILD Program Manager oversees operations of Montana WILD and ensures the facility and programs have adequate staffing and resources to fulfill plans and objectives. The Program Manager works closely with the Education Bureau Chief to administer an annual budget that incorporates granting needs and programmatic requirements. The Montana WILD Program Manager also develops, delivers, and oversees delivery of mission-driven conservation and outdoor education to Montana's K-12 schools, youth groups, and the public. This position is also responsible for overseeing the Montana WILD Visitor and Events Coordinator as well as the Education and Outreach Specialist who both have a variety of supportive duties. Their duties include, in part, administering the Montana WILD Transportation & Lodging Grant Program, coordinating volunteers for programs and front desk coverage, scheduling school field trips and monthly public event schedules, managing the auditorium schedule, developing exhibit hall and classroom activities, covering the front desk and welcoming visitors, delivering educational programs, assisting regions with general education needs, implementing large, city-wide and regional education programs with education partners, and assisting FWP's Nongame Bureau with implementing the State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP). The number of employees supervised is : 2 The position also supervises one AmeriCorps Member, 2-4 temporary services employees, and 10-20 education and front desk volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of : Theories, principles, and practices of conservation education and public service Educational practices, principles, development of curricula, and science pedagogy Wildlife, fisheries, and parks management Developing policies and procedures Developing position classifications, selection process, work planning, and performance evaluation Supervising, supporting, and coaching personnel and volunteers Facilitating workshops and meetings State procurement, budgeting, and contracting procedures Strategic and operational planning FWP's mission, objectives, goals, and branding effort Program planning, management, and design Curriculum development and implementation Instructional methods and training techniques including interpretation, curriculum design principles, learning theory, group and individual teaching techniques, design of individual development plans, and test design principles. Principles of wildlife conservation and ecology Principles and processes involved in organizational planning, coordination, and execution Computer programs, including In Design, Illustrator, Photo Shop and MS Office Suite Has the abilities and skills to : Cultivate an open, collaborative, safe, engaging, and respectful team environment. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience) : The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in wildlife biology, education, parks and recreation, or environmental science and at least 3 years of job-related experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case by case basis.
