We are seeking Hungarian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Hungarian, a Uralic language spoken in Hungary and across Central / Eastern Europe, is a priority European language often needed in asylum, refugee, and immigration-related cases.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Hungarian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity in immigration and asylum contexts.Maintain confidentiality and comply with USCIS / DHS interpreter ethics standards.Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge interpretation calls.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA auditsQualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Hungarian and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, community, medical, legal, or government preferred).Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality standards.Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance.Compensation & Benefits
