OR Tech Job Details

Location : Laurium, MI 49913 (Upper Peninsula – Michigan healthcare jobs)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (travel healthcare contract)

Start Date : September 29, 2025

Shift : 4x10 hour days per week (typically 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM; variable start times possible)

Hours per Week : 40 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1920 - $2060

On Call : 1-2 times per week (end of shift to 7 : 00 AM next day); every 4th weekend for call

Holiday Call : Required (no regular holiday shifts)

Scrub Colors : Provided

Operating Room Tech Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (Associate Degree or Certificate required)

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license required

BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Technologist

Strong experience in orthopedic surgery and C-section cases required

Proficient in sterile processing and surgical standards

Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills

OR Tech Responsibilities

Assist surgeons and the healthcare team in a variety of surgical procedures, including ortho and C-section cases

Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies

Participate in sterile processing and infection control as needed

Support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures

Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced operating room environment

Document procedures accurately using the Epic charting system

Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency surgical needs
