SUMMARY : Performs specialized accounting work for the Tribe. This position is responsible for assisting in accounting areas including payroll, and general ledger. Assists the Payroll Manager in performing a variety of professional accounting, fiscal transactions, periodic reports, analysis, and auditing transactions. Positions in 1his class are considered professional working level accounting specialists.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proport10ns and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear; the employee must also occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The applicant may occasionally be required to lift up to twenty-five pounds and frequently lift up to ten pounds. Specific vis10n abilities required by this job include close vision, (clear vision at 20 inches or less); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). This job entails a lot of close up reading, interpreting, and keying. Focus must shift easily from that surface to computer screen and vice versa.

The employee may occasionally work near mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Requirements :
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : MA OR Bachelor's Degree with major study in accounting or a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 20 semester or 30 quarter hours in accounting and two years of professional accounting or auditing experience; OR Associate of Arts Degree with major study in accounting with a minimum of20 semester or 30 quarter hours in accounting and four years of professional accounting or auditing experience; OR High School graduation or GED and six years ofprofess10nal accounting experience providing 20 semester or 30 quarter hours of college-level accounting are achieved.
