Civil / Form Carpenter / Concrete Foreman Multi-Craft
At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer's unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc.
The focus of this position will be to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, conforming to local building codes. Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete structures, using hand tools or power tools including floats, trowels, and screeds. Operate Skid steer, backhoes, and mini excavators. Perform construction duties in Heavy Commercial and Industrial environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Supervisory Responsibilities : Oversees the daily work assignments of a crew of one to 12 employees. Reports out to office supervision the performance of the crew in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints / resolving problems and / or reporting those to office supervision for assistance.
Education and / or Experience : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
