2025-26 Cafeteria Monitor

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

• Monitor elementary students behavior during lunch (cafeteria and on the playground)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to communicate well and maintain order within the elementary cafeteria setting and playground area

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Communicate with the principal/assistant principal to understand and follow the school's philosophical viewpoints regarding child management.
• Supervise behavior management programs as directed by the principal/assistant principal.
• Assist students with necessary items for lunch; such as eating utensils, opening food containers, etc.
• Cafeteria table clean-up as directed by the principal/assistant principal.
• Supervise after lunch playground activities as directed by the principal/assistant principal.
• Refer all problems regarding overall lunch room program to the principal/assistant principal as they arise using building procedures. Maintain confidentiality and loyalty regarding students and school situations.
• Attend all required in-services.
• Other duties related to student lunch period on request.
